Overlooking Lake Maggiore, in the picturesque setting of Gambarogno, Habitat was conceived as a hospitality experience immersed in the landscape, where architecture, nature and wellbeing come together to create a different way of experiencing the local area.
Habitat comprises six accommodation units designed to exist in close harmony with nature and the energy of the location. Each structure has been designed to offer guests an authentic and immersive experience, one that showcases the surrounding landscape and the connection with Lake Maggiore.
The buildings blend discreetly into the natural surroundings, opening out towards the light, the greenery and the panoramic views. Each unit has been designed to transform a stay into an experience of connection with the local area, whilst maintaining high standards of comfort and quality of living.
Habitat is a particularly significant project due to its ability to integrate contemporary architecture, sustainability and respect for the local environment, giving rise to a new interpretation of hospitality in nature.
The project’s location presented one of the main challenges of the works. The site is situated in an area characterised by particularly difficult access and significant logistical constraints.
The images illustrate how some of the structures were moved and installed with the aid of a helicopter, transforming the construction process into an operation requiring a high degree of technical and organisational coordination.
Habitat demonstrates how Pagano’s construction technology can adapt even to hard-to-reach locations, whilst maintaining precision, high-quality workmanship and respect for the local environment.
Each unit has been designed to make the most of the views, ensure guests’ privacy and foster a connection with the local area, striking a balance between contemporary comfort and immersion in nature.
The structures were fabricated at the Pagano factory through a coordinated production process that enabled each component to be prepared before being transported to the construction site.
The particular logistical complexity of the project required a high level of planning and organisation, coordinating architecture, structural engineering and transport in accordance with the site’s specific characteristics.
The installation phase is one of the most distinctive aspects of the Habitat project. The site photographs show the transport and positioning of the units within a natural setting that is difficult to access, where part of the work was carried out with the assistance of a helicopter.
